I. City Council will convene for a Regular Meeting at the Elmendorf City Hall at' 7:00 pm July 25, 2024. Citizens Participation Laurie Marek Ms. Marek is ai newi resident in the Hickory Ridge community since November 2023. She states that she and others in the subdivision have been experiencing billing issues with Aqua Texas. She recently received a $600.00 bill for sewer services, months after her move in, and has made payment arrangements to payoff that balance. This has created al hardship in her life, along with others in her community, as her sewer bill will now be $150.00a month on top ofall her other utilities. This situation has left Ms. Marek with many questions as to how Aqua came to be a utility provider in the city. She is aware that Aquai is scheduled to the meet with the city on July 31s'and a town meeting is planned for the Hickory Ridge residents soon after. Ms. Lopez has been attacked by a dog twice inl her neighborhood. She is aware that dogs are a common issue in her subdivision, Ranchview Estates, as there have been several complaints on dogs running at large. Ms. Lopez wants tol knowl her rights on how she can protect herself. Police Chiefl Marco Pena knows the dog that Ms. Lopez was bitten by is now gone. Chief Pena has spoken with the owners and ensured that the dog was re-homed for good this time. Chief Pena advises Ms. Lopez she may do Aurora Lopez whatever is necessary to protect herself. Page 1of6 July 25,2024 Minnie Slaughter Ms. Slaughter is concerned with the trucks going through Schultz Road even though it has been established as a "No Truck Route". She has noticed that trucks are going through anyway and shei is afraid that with the poor condition oft that road, they are going to make it worse. Mayor Gonzales points out that hej just saw ChiefPena with at truck pulled over by there so he knows that he is patrolling the area. Chief Pena states he will increase the patrol. II. Mayor and City Council Comments Councilmember Maldonado Glad to be able to attend the meeting. Mrs. Maldonado caught COVID but fortunately Councilmember Maldonado was able to Glad to be here. Public Hearing - Conduct public hearing regarding the reauthorization ofbuilding permit fees. Mayor Gonzales opens the public hearing session at 7:17 pm. No comments. Mayor Gonzales closes the public hearing at 7:18 pm. City Administrator Cody Dailey explains that the public hearing is required whenever any part of the resolution fee is amended.
