Minutes of the Unified Development Code Advisory Commission City of Georgetown, Texas Wednesday, July 17, 2024 The Georgetown Unified Development Code Advisory Commission met on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 3:30 PM at Historic Light and Waterworks Building, 809 Martin Luther King, Jr Street. Committee Member Hellmann requested that note A to be applicable to the C1, Local Commercial, zoning district for Committee Member Baran referenced the upcoming downtown parking garage and recommended to remove part 1 of note K in the Mixed Used Downtown, MUDT, zoning Committee Member Hellmann recommended to remove note K on the home health care services and medical or dental office uses in the MUDT district because the medical or dental clinic and urgent care facility uses will require a special use permit, SUP. Committee Member Hellmann noted to strike the portion of note K that references the MUDT district completely from the use table. The discussion continued tot the professional and business offices section oft the commercial uses table found in section 5.04.010 of the Unified Development Code. Committee Member Baran recommended to limit the integrated office center use int the C1 zoning district and change it as permitted by right in the MUDT zoning district. Additionally, Committee Member Baran recommended to leave the data center use as prohibited in the Ryan Clark, Long Range Senior Planner, asked the committee if they would permit general retail in the business park, BP, zoning district. Committee Member Hellmann suggested to remove the limitation oft the farmer's market use in the C1 zoning district and added that the flea market use should remain as an SUP. Committee Member Baran agreed with Committee Member Hellmann' suggestion and added that an SUP should be required for the farmer's market use in Clark asked the Committee ift the artisan studio and gallery use should remain as its own use, or ifi it should be included in the general retail use. Committee Member Hellmann mentioned that the artisan studio and gallery use seem appropriate as a general retail use. Examples oft the artisan studio and gallery use in Georgetown were provided for clarification. Committee Member Baran recommended to allow the use as its own category. Committee Member Hellmann suggested to permit the artisan studio and Committee Member Carr suggested in including karate within the personal services use. Committee Member Baran recommended to permit the personal service. use in the C1 Nelson asked the committee if a vape store should be added to the definition of personal services, restricted. Committee Member Baran recommended to add vape shop in the personal services, restricted use and questioned if the use should be permitted in the 11 zoning district. Clark recommended excluding it from the 11 zoning district.
