TOWN OF PLYMOUTH SPECIAL TOWN HALL MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 3, 2022 = TRUMP'S RESTAURANT (59 U.S. HIGHWAY 64 EAST) AND VIA ZOOM 7:00 p.m. I. CALL TO ORDER - Mayor Brian Roth PRESENT ABSENT COUNCILMEMBER X Mayor Pro-Tempore Brooks Councilman Boston Councilwoman Byers Councilman Tharps Councilman Wobbleton Mayor Roth X X X X X X Councilwoman Williams (attended via ZOOM) Note: Attorney Isenberg was not in attendance. The Mayor opened the meeting and welcomed all attendees and explained the reason for the Town Hall meeting in that the Town Council was seeking citizen input on several topics. Mayor Roth stated that it would be an open mike event Each councimember then introduced themselves, the Ward that they represented and gave a short statement. Mayor Roth then introduced Town staff members that were present, and their roles. Mayor Roth then gave an overall view of economic development projects that the Town is working on. Citizens then began to raise their hands sO that they could address questions sO that citizens could voice their input. and concerns which included the following: Water/Sewer rate increases Dilapidated Properties Police Patrols Recreation Growth in the Community Replacement of Water/Sewer lines Pavement of Roads Usage of Grant Funding Increased Shootings Recruitment of Police Officers Street Lighting Unemployment November: 3, 2022 Town of Plymouth. Special Town Hall Meeting Minutes Page 1 Trash Contractor/Colection Programs for Children/Adults with Disabilities Dog Park Mayor Roth, Councimembers, Chief Williams, Officer Stephanie Simpson, and Interim Town Manager Styons responded to the issues that were brought up. Councilmembers made closing remarks which included reassuring the citizens that the Town Hall Meeting was held to listen to citizen's concerns and acknowledged that resolution of all of the issues cannot be accomplished immediately, but the issues have been identified, and will be addressed to the best of their ability. It was asked of the citizens to attend more monthly town meetings and sign up to speak during the Public Comment portion and be informed of what is taking place in the town firsthand. The Councilmembers also stated that citizen participation was greatly appreciated. Mayor Roth again thanked everyone for their participation. A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Councilman Wobbleton with a second by Counciwoman Byers. The motion passed unanimously.
