SPECIAL SESSION MEETING AUGUST 15TH, 2024  Be it remembered on the 15th day of August at 10:10 o'clock A.M., there was Begun and Holden a Special Meeting of the Commissioner's Court in the Courthouse, in the town of Farwell, with the following members present,  To-wit:  Isabel Izzy Carrasco Kirk Frye Charles Wilkins Kenny White Casey Russell Sharon May  Judge  Commissioner Pct. #1 Commissioner Pct. #2 Commissioner Pct. #3 Commissioner Pct. #4 County Treasurer  Also Present:  Mayra Chacon, Deputy Clerk  Lucy Castillo, Amy Dudley  When the following was had and done, To-wit:  Call to Order  1. Consider and Discuss the 2025 Proposed Parmer County Budget  The COLA Plan at different rates was discussed, Judge Carrasco made a motion to approve a 3%, making an initial payment of $20,000 in 2025 and payments each year after and to increase employer matching from 150% to 200% at 9.98% rate for future only, the 5% raise to all county employees starting January 2025 was also approved, Commissioner Frye  seconded, the motion passed with majority of votes.  2. Consider and Discuss the 2024 Proposed Parmer County Tax Rate After a brief discussion regarding the 2024 proposed tax rate, Commissioner Russell made a motion to approve the proposed 2024 tax rate at 0.3800, Commissioner Wilkins seconded, motion carried with majority of votes. Judge Carrasco and Commissioners also discussed to change next meeting from September 9th 2024, to September 12th, 2024, to set a public hearing and adapt the 2025 budget and the proposed  2024 tax rate.  1    With no further business to come before the Court, Commissioner White moved to adjourn.
