Baker 25 Colpitts Drive Windsor, NY 13865 Dear Legislator Baker,  As chair of the Public Safety & Emergency Services Committee, if you are not already, Iwant to make you aware that we have received repeated New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Municipal Shelter Inspection Reports for the Broome County Dog Shelter with an unsatisfactory rating. The first report was received on December 12, 2023, and the defects have gone uncorrected through the most recent inspection report we received on. July 12, 2024. The Town of Windsor was confident that these readily correctable violations would be addressed in at timely manner as they have been in The Town of Windsor has supported and maintained a contract with the Broome County Dog Shelter for over 20 years. We are justifiably concerned that the dog shelter SO many rely on is currently not in compliançe. Ican also say that other local municipalities are equally concerned. In light of the above, please take all necessary steps to resolve this issue. We are asking for your assurances that the County will be addressing this issue without delay, and that you provide a date within the foreseeable future as to when these violations will be corrected returning the shelter to compliançe. These repeated, unaddressed, inspection reports are on municipal agendas all over the County, and we, the Town of Windsor would like to advise our residents that the County is taking the  the past, but that has not been the case.  necessary steps to resolve this issue.
