STATE OFI NORTH CAROLINA ) COUNTY OF STOKES  OFFICE OF' THE COMMISSIONERS STOKES COUNTY GOVERNMENT DANBURY, NORTH CAROLINA MONDAY: MAY: 13, 2024  Thel Board ofCommissioners of the County of Stokes, State ofNorth Carolina, met for a Special Called Meeting in the Commissioners' Chambers oft the Ronald Wilson Reagan Memorial Building (Administration Building) located in Danbury, North Carolina on Monday  May 13, 2024 at 3:00 pm with the: following members present:  Board Members Present:  Chairman Brad Chandler, Vice Chairman Keith Wood, Commissioner Sonya Cox, Commissioner Ronnie Mendenhall, and Commissioner Rick Morris. County Administration present: Interim County Manager/Clerk to the Board Amber Brown. Chairman Chandler called the Special Meeting to order for the Board of County Commissioners. Chairman Chandler invited those in attendance to. join the Board ini thei invocation, if sO desired. GENERAL GOVERNMENT-GOVERNING: BODX-PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairman Chandler invited those in attendance to join the Boards in the Pledge of Allegiance.  INVOCATION  Vice Chairman Wood delivered the invocation,  APPROVAL OF AGENDA  Chairman Chandler entertained ai motion to approve or amend the agenda.  Vice Chairman Wood: moved to approve the agenda as presented. Commissioner Cox seconded  the motion.  Chairman Chandler opened the: floor for iscussion/questions/comments.  With no discussion, the motion passed unanimously. SPECIAL MEETING- CLOSED SESSION  Chairman Chandler entertained a motion to enter closed session. Commissioner Mendenhall moyed to enter closed session for the following:  May 13, 2024  Special Meeting    To consider the initial employment or appointment of an individual to any office or position, other than a vacancy in the Board ofCounty Commissioners or any other public body, or to consider the qualifications, competence, performance, character, and fitness of any public officer or employee, other than ai member oft the Board of Commissioners or of some other public body pursuant to G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6)  Commissioner Morris seconded the motion, With no discussion, the motion passed unanimously. The Board entered closed session. The Board: re-entered open session. ADJOURNMENT adjourn the meeting.  With no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Chandler entertained ai motion to Vice Chairman Wood: moved to adjourn the meeting.
