STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA ) COUNTY OF STOKES  OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONERS STOKES COUNTY GOVERNMENT DANBURY, NORTH CAROLINA TUESDAY JUNE: 25, 2024  1 ) )  The Board of Commissioners oft the County of Stokes, State ofNorth Carolina, met for a Special Called Meeting at the. Arts Place located inl Danbury, North Carolina on Tuesday  June 25, 2024 at 9:00 am with the following members present:  Board: Members Present:  Chairman Brad Chandler, Vice Chairman Keith Wood, Commissioner Sonya Cox, Commissioner Ronnie! Mendenhall, and Commissioner Rick Morris.  Others present: North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Outreach Associate Amy Chairman Chandler called the Special Meeting to order for thel Board of County Commissioners. Chairman Chandlerinvited those in attendance toj join the Board in the invocation, if so desired. GENERAL GOVERNMENT-GOVERNING BODY-PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairman Chandler invited those in attendance to join thel Boards in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Cannon.  INVOCATION  Vice Chairman Chandler delivered the invocation.  APPROVAL OF AGENDA  Chairman Chandler entertained ai motion to approve or amend the agenda.  Commissioner Cox moved to approve the agenda as presented. Vice Chairman Wood seconded  the motion.  Chairman Chandler opened the floor for iscussion/questions/comments.  With: no discussion, the motion passed unanimously. SPECIALMEETING:  CLOSED SESSION  Chairman Chandler entertained a motion to enter closed session. Commissioner Cox moved to enter closed session for the following:  1  June 25, 2024  Special Meeting    To consider the initial employment or appointment of an individual to any office or position, other than a vacancy in the Board of County Commissioners or any other public body, or to consider the qualifications, competence, performance, character, and fitness of any public officer or employee, other than ai member oft the Board of Commissioners or ofs some other public body pursuant to G.S. 143-318.11()(6)  Commissioner Mendenhall seconded the motion. With no discussion, the motion passed unanimously. The Board entered closed session. The Board re-entered open session. ADJOURNMENT adjourn the meeting.  With no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Chandler entertained ai motion to Commissioner Mendenhall moved to adjourn the meeting.
