Town Council Special Meeting Minutes Morehead City, North Carolina  Monday, ,July 22, 2024  The Honorable Council of the Town of Morehead City held a Special meeting on Monday, July 22, 2024, in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 1100 Bridges Street, Morehead City, North Carolina. The purpose oft this meeting was to consider an amendment to Resolution 2024- R-14, endorsing the Downtown Morehead City, Inc. "Alive At Five" events to consider authorizing alternate event dates for inclement weather and to request resources from the City.  COUNCIL PRESENT:  Mayor Gerald A. Jones, Jr.; Councilmembers Richard Abell, Lee  Stiles, Bill Taylor, and Harvey Walker. Councilmember George Ballou was absent.  STAFF PRESENT: OTHERS PRESENT:  City Manager Chris Turner, City Attorney Derek Taylor, Special Events Officer Victoria Veith, and City Clerk Cathy Campbell. Maceo Donald of The Carteret News Times, Kathyrn Metts and Tom Kies of Downtown Morehead City, Inc., Mark Kelly, and  Vinny Lang.  Mayor Jones called the Special Meeting of the Morehead City Town Council to order at 9:00 a.m. with a quorum present. He advised that Councilmember George Ballou was absent due  tol being out oftown  Consider Amendment of] Resolution 2024-R-14  Mayor Jones stated that Downtown Morehead City, Inc. has requested to add July 26, August 16, and October 17,2024, as alternate inclement weather dates to Resolution 2024-R-14, endorsing the "Alive At. Five" events, due to the southeast weather being experienced recently. Mr. Turner stated that additional provisions were included to outline the City services and equipment to be provided for the events. The amendment was necessary due to the service of  alcohol and staff scheduling changes.  Councilmember Abell made a motion to adopt Amended Resolution 2024-R-14 as presented. Councilmember Walker seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.
