Highlights ofour inspection are: noted below. Please see the attached report for greater detail. 1. The plant continues to exceed several permit limits. Since January 2014, the plant has reported violations for total suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and ammonia. Thel Department requests that the Town hire a consultant to work with the plant operators to develop a process control strategy to address. these violations. 2. The Town has reported several carbonaceous biological oxygen demand (CBOD) results as less than 61 mg/l. The permit limit is 5mg/l. Please work with the laboratory to ensure that they use the correct dilutions in order to have a detection 3. The operators noted that harvested reeds are being stored on-site at the plant while they find a way toj properly dispose oft them. The Department believes that the reeds may be composted, however we: ask that the Town contact Nicole Chisholm oft the Department's) Division ofl Materials Management for greater detail on what steps may be necessary.
