Amber Brown 1. Call to Order Vice Mayor Joyce Barton called the meeting to order at 7:36 p.m. 2. Pledge of Allegiance and Moment ofSilence The Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence were done during the Special Town Commission meeting that was. held immediately prior to this meeting. 4. Public Comments After being acknowledged by the Vice Mayor, members of the public should state their name: and address for the record. The Commission encourages citizens to prepare their comments in advance. Each individual will have three (3) minutes to address the Commission on any topic(s) related to' Town business, not on the Agenda. None 5. New Business A. Open Discussion Vice Mayor Joyce Barton spoke about having rules and procedures for meetings and provided a copy ofV West Melbourne's. Additionally, she spoke about the Commissioners considering attending IEMO - Institute for Elected Municipal Commissioner Marivi Walker spoke about it being difficult for smaller municipalities where the Commissioners have a full-time job to take two days offto Officials which has a two-day ethics workshop. attend the workshop, but for larger municipalities, it would make sense when that Town Manager Elizabeth Mascaro spoke about the option of having one person go istheirj job. then come back and lead a workshop on it. Further discussion ensued Ali Dennington 413SurfRd Ali Dennington spoke about having an employee ofthe Town attend and then doa memo to share the information. Steve Walters 416Sixth_Ave Steve Walters spoke about the Commission having a policy outside ofRobert's Rules ofOrder, and part ofits says you will answer questions that you know, or assign them to the stafftoj follow up on. All ofthe Commissioners should have Robert's Rules ofOrder, the Town policy, and the civility policy. Ali Dennington 413 SurfRd Ali Dennington spoke about when she asked for the Town's policies and procedures she received afew different copies. The Town might already have something existing that no one knows about. The public is held to the rules, but Vice Mayor Joyce Barton spoke about looking into other options for the Space Coast League of Cities meeting that the Town co-hosts with Indialantic. Maybe a the Commission is not. barbeque or something beachy. Ali Dennington 413 Surfrd Alil Dennington spoke about ifthe meeting is on the Monday/following Founder's Vice Mayor Joyce Barton spoke about thet tents and tables belong to the vendors. Town Clerk Amber Brown spoke about receiving the requirements for the meeting from the Space Coast League of Cities and then reaching out to various places and with the requirements, the Hilton was the only close option and the' Town has Town Manager Elizabeth Mascaro spoke about if the meeting wasn'timmediately following Founder's Day we could havel large tents in the park and have it catered. Day wouldn't the park have tents and tables still. already signed a proposal with them. Further discussion ensued 6. Adjournment Commissioner Marivi Walker moved to adjourn; Commissioner Corey Runte seconded; Motion carried 4-0.
