CDBG) Public Hearing Minutes April 11,2023 Page 1 MINUTES The City ofl Blountstown, County of Calhoun, State of Florida, met in] Public Hearing Tuesday, April 11,2023, at 5:00P.M. The following members of the City Council present were: Mayor Tony Shoemake, Councilman Bill Gaskin, Councilman Clifford Jackson, Councilwoman Sheila) Blackburn and Councilwoman Mert Stephens. Also present were: City Manager Traci S. Hall, City Attorney Jeff Carter, Police Chief Mark Mallory, Public Works Director Phillip Griffin and Council Secretary April Also present were: Colton Purvis, Titus Overholt, Sam Davis, Arzella Smith, Mayor Tony Shoemake called the Public Hearing to order at 5:00P.M. Mr. Colton Purvis stated this ist the 2nd CDBG Public Hearing for the proposed City project. Mr. Purvis stated the City had applied in the 2022 grant cycle and did not get funded, but had received notification thatt therei is still grant funding available and we were encouraged to update our public hearing advertisement, hold another public hearing, and re-submit our application. Mr. Purvis stated this project includes resurfacing of the following streets: Smith Street, Fern Street, MLK Boulevard, and Palm Street. Mr. Purvis stated it alsoi includes some draining improvements adjacent to Palm Street. Bailey. Tony Read, Deborah Peterson, and Tony Arrant. Mayor Shoemake opened public comments. Mayor Shoemake closed public comments. Councilman Gaskin made ai motion toi re-submit the City's CDBG application for the paving and drainage improvements discussed.
