From the opening day of April 19th through July 12th we have seen an increase of$45,735 or 16.9% in revenue in comparison to the same period of 2023. There have been 1,109 more Tennis: The Tennis courts opened for the 2023 Season on May 1st and have again seen many new players this season. There has been an increase in revenue of$7,808 for May and June 2024 Tourism Development Authority (TDA) Board Meeting: The TDA Board met on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Sam Semple was sworn in to serve as a member oft the TDA Board for an additional two year term; August 2024 - August 2026. Semple was also appointed the Co-Chairman. The Board approved a proposal from Bramble Marketing fori the production ofai fall and winter video in the amount of $8, 000 each. The winter video was approved contingent on collaboration with the Ski Resort. A proposal was submitted for the Board to consider beautification of the bridge and trail on Sugar Mountain Drive. The Board tabled any action/funding until they received input from the Council and the Planning Board. The Board approved $500 to sponsor the Linville Ridge Tennis Pro-Am event in August. The occupancy tax collections fort the period. June 2023 through May 2024 ($855,581)have shown a $27,688 or 3.14% decrease in comparison to the same period of 2023 ($883,269). Street Maintenance: Tri-County Paving crew has completed the repairs and resurfacing of our Village streets through. June 30th. The paving maintenance budget approved for the FY2024-25 will begin in the upcoming weeks. A culvert on Grouse Moor Drive will be replaced prior to the paving to be done on Grouse Moor Drive. Public Works has completed the striping on our streets and will restripe the areas Property Tax Collections: Of the $1,410,225 total 2023 levy, $1,406,667 or 99.75% has been collected with al balance of $3,558 uncollected through June 30, 2024. A balance of $1,774 isstill uncollected for the 2014-2022 tax years. The tax bills for 2024 have been mailed to all property owners this week. Summer Grillin'& Chillin' Events: The summer Grillin' & Chillin' Events will continue every Wednesday this summer through Labor Day, September 4th. The events are every Wednesday from 5:30 - 8:30. Wednesday, July 17th will feature the "Preston Benfield Band". This is the seventh year of the event and attendance continues to grow.
