He said we will not be available on Facebook tonight due to technical issues. Adoption of Agenda Council Member Don Herndon made a motion to adopt the agenda. Council Member Larry Coble seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Council Members Larry Coble, Terry Caviness, Don Herndon, Tyson Nixon, and Greg Carpenter voted yes and adopted the agenda. Information Monthly Reports Each Department's Monthly Reports are included for review. Library Director Brenda Heindl said shei is shortening the hours in the summer to do more outreach. She will still have two staffmembers there at all times. She has two positions open for the Library Advisory Board. Police Chief Semrad said Public Works have helped them clear the grounds at the Police Station and they have a new sign. The Fire Department got their flags up. Hei is meeting Animal Control this week about the dogs on Luther. Safety Director Bret Pedigo thanked Parks and Rec Director Kolby McPherson for organizing the community basketball game at the park for the firefighters. The Plymovent system has been installed. New Business Appoint Chris Compton Chair ABC Board Reappointment. Jairus Griffith ABC Board ABC. Board member Chris Compton is willing to serve as Chair since Douglas Hardin has resigned from the Board. He will take over his term which ends in January 2026. Jairus Griffith is willing to serve another three year term on the ABC Board which would Road Closure Request N. Public Hearing Rezoning Request Duke Energy 1.15 acres W Brower from TOWN There will be an advertised legislative Public Hearing in relation to a rezoning ofa property 1.15 acres Parcel # 8726940940 and Parcel # 8726940797 located at W. Brower from TOWN to Industrial (I) on' Tuesday May 28, 2024 5:30 PM. The Town ofLiberty The Town Manager will present the proposed Budget forl Fiscal Year 2024/2025 on Agreement/Resolation WithersRavenel Task order Liberty Spring 2024 BIL Lead The Task Order is included as an addition to the On-Call Services Agreement awarded June 26, 2023 between the Town and WithersRavenel, Inc. The Town wishes to pursue funding assistance from NCDEQ's DWI through the BIL Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Lead Service Line Replacement Funds and would like assistance with completing the application for the June 2024 funding cycle (Project). The primary objective oft the Project is to obtain funding for finding and replacing service lines as discovered. Public Works Director Joseph Walsh came forward. The state is willing tol help with inventory end January 2027. tol Industrial (I) Tuesday May 28, 2024 does not have an adopted TOWN district. FY 2024/2025 Proposed Budget Presentation Tuesday May 28, 20245:30PM: at the regular Council Meeting. Service Line. Application and the grant pays for replacement of lead pipes. Manager's] Report Town Manager Scott Kidd gave the report. He asked all Council Members to sign the letter ini response to the audit. We did the same thing last year. The ABC Board has approved adding a loading dock. We should get a check in next Thursday from the DEQ SOC WWTP Grant and ARPA grant. Council Comments Council Member Herndon said a group from Freedom Family Church helped to pick up litter around town and Tyson Nixon, Greg Carpenter and himselfh had attended a Legislative Seminar in Chapel Hill. He asked ift there had been any progress on the Skill Games place on S. Greensboro. The Town Manager said they are still going through their receipts that were turned in. Mayor Comments Mayor York thanked the Council Members that attended the seminar in Chapel Hill and said hel hopes everyone has a safe Memorial Day. Motion to Adjourn There being no further business to discuss, Council Member Tyson Nixon motioned to adjourn the meeting and Council Member' Terry Caviness seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Council Member Larry Coble voted yes, Council Member Terry Caviness voted yes, Council Member Don Herndon voted yes, Council Member Tyson Nixon voted yes and Council Member Greg Carpenter voted yes.
