Oath ofOffice- Sean' Tyler- - This item was pulled from the agenda UNSCHEDULED AUDIENCE: Sharon Shanks came forward and spoke about the noise level coming from Opus Bar and Tropical Public Works Director Titterington stated that possible resolutions were discussed at the staff level and he presented a suggestion to install dense vegetation, specifically bamboo, as a sound barrier. Mayor Dobkowski stated that ifthis business was opening now a buffer would be required, however, requiring al buffer retroactively is not an option. She stated that she began coming to the Commission with this problem in 2022 and appreciates the discussion and possible solutions that are being had currently. She reiterated that she feels a noise ordinance is the most feasible option to solve this issue not only for her complaints but other noise complaints that have been made throughout the city. Attorney Landt stated that the best long-term constant solution would be the proposed buffer stating that the Chiefhad previously indicated ai noise ordinance is very difficult to enforce. He also stated rezoning is not an option as the existing businesses would be granted a non-conforming use and be able to continue to operate. C. Finance Department: N/A d. Public Works: Updates Public Works Director Titterington stated the maintenance work at the splash pad will begin soon. He also informed the commission that his department had conducted a smoke test at the Summercrest neighborhood. The purpose is to check for leaks and intrusions. They discovered 50 cleanouts with no tops, probably due to lawn mowers running over them.
