TOWN OF ASTATULA MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL MINUTES REGULAR SESSION MONDAY MARCH 9, 2020 TOWN HALL Having been duly advertised as required by law, Mayor Mitchell Mack called the Regular Session meeting to ordera at 7.00pm. He: asked Pastor Lane to give the invocation and then led the Pledge of Allegiance. Members Present: Mitchell Mack, Mayor Stephen Cross Gayle Sikkema Orita Issartel Staff Present: Graham Wells, Town Clerk Wally Hoagland, Police Chief Jane Whaley, Deputy Clerk Absent: Kimberly Kobera, Vice-Mayor Roll Call was performed, and it was determined that a quorum was present. Mayor Mack welcomed guests including Pastor Lane, Jacob Lane and Assistant Pastor Jayson Keefer from At this time the meeting was: suspended sO that the Certificate of Occupancy could be presented, Astatula Baptist Church. and photographs be taken at the church. The meeting resumed at 7:24 pm CITIZENS QUESTIONS AND COMMENT Sean Donnelly, 14239 Tennessee Ave, questioned that code enforcement had gone from complaint based to non-complaint based and why that change had been made. Mayor Mack said that he was concerned with health and safety.Chiefl Hoagland stated that ifthe code enforcement officer saw a pile of crap as he was driving then he would deal with it before a complaint was made. The Mayor suggested that it would be appropriate to review the policy on code enforcement and would add it to a future meeting for discussion. AGENDA REVIEW There were no changes requested. The following agenda item requires the town to have an alternative vendor for those services and this could be done by M.T. Causley. It makes no sense to pay Kerry to come from' Tampa when the building inspector can do both jobs while hei is here and ati the same rate. He added that everything with Kerry had not gone smoothly and there had been some issues. Councilwoman Sikkema added that the town was paying his travel to come from Tampa as well.
