WEST HOMESTEAD BOROUGH Council Meeting December 13, 2022 Minutes Call to Order Vice-President Dave Harhai called the meeting to order at 6:15 pm. REPORTS: Public Comment on Agenda Items Engineer Mark Brashear Solicitor Stanley Lederman Spoke on the Sewer project for 2023. Tonight, there are many Resolutions. This is the year-end cleanup. Michael Lederman was in court with John Miskovich and the Judge declared the property must be fully cleaned up by January 31, 2023. The Borough has permission toclean up and bill him if not completed by said date. Mr. Miskovich was embarrassed and wants to clean up the property. Mayor John Dindak Nor report Borough Manager Bill Etherington Approached by Senator Brewster and he will have a satellite office one day a week on Mondays from 9-4 for the Mon Valley area. We are working on a Meetn'Greetfor our February Legislative meeting. This needs to be finalized. 2023 Budget is completed and there will be no tax increase. Police Chief Charles Rozzo Thanked Council for all that has been done for the Police and looking forward to 2023. Finishing the standard operating procedures. Updated the standard issued forms and have continued training. Thanks to the Fire Department for the use of their building. Thanks to Baldwin EMS, great working relationship. The call volume is going up in all areas. Waterfront Resource Officer ends December 31, 2023. Fire ChiefJohn Dindak There have been 405 calls, year to date. There were 3 fires, 36 other calls and 47 drills. We had a boot drive, Light-Up Night, Christmas Parade and Santa Stops. Next year we will pick 5 stops and only stop there. Emergency Management Director Dan Churma We have ended 2022 on a positive note and picked up a Deputy. Baldwin EMS Chief Todd Plunkett On day 13, we have had 24 calls. We have had good support on the subscriptions. Attended the Christmas event and the parade. There will be a full report next month. All is going well. Bill McLaughlin: Bill and Dan attended the Board of Directors meeting, toured the facility, and received a warm welcome. Street Commissioner Glenn Guckes Light up night went well. The backhoe has been fixed. 100 tons of salt is in the bins and the trucks are ready to go.
