WEST HOMESTEAD BOROUGH Council Meeting May 10, 2022 Minutes Call to Order President Joe Baran called the meeting to order at 6:15 pm. REPORTS: Engineer: Mark Brashear Notice to proceed with contractor for paving. Lateral inspections started last month with very few issues. Waiting to hear from PAW on repaving the roads. Working on sewer repairs. Solicitor: Stanley Lederman Tonight, we will be proposing two (2) Ordinances and one (1) Resolution. Borough Manager: Bill Etherington Expenses and Revenue are in line with the budget. Anew garbage truck is on order but there are supply chain issues. Trucks are old and are leaking. Mayor John Dindak We will have a Memorial Day Service this year on May 30th at 11am. Credit new Police Chief Rozzo with putting things in order. Police Chief, Charles Rozzo Renovations are occurring on the Police side, and we are still in process. Ameeting with the Police officers went very well. Issues with scheduling has been Sandcastle will be opening longer than previous years. Hours will be 11am-7pm, starting June 1st. Veteran Banners will be up soon. field trips and three (3) Casino trips. We have ordered a pickup truck in October; it has not been built yet. Steel Rivers Council of Governments: Ashley Cain Steel Valley Enterprise Zone: Dave Harhai There will be a meeting this Monday. Nor report. The first Friday event will be held on May 20th along 7th and 8th Avenue. Various businesses will be participating with entertainment, artwork on display. COMMITTEE REPORTS Community Affairs: Barb Ferson, Chair We will reschedule "Clean-Up." There will be a Community Day meeting on Tuesday at 6 pm. Shade Tree meeting will be held on May 18th.
