REPORTS Engineer Mark Brashear The park is moving along, should be done in the next couple of weeks. The GROW Grant has been accepted for the separation of sewers. Itv will be going out tol bid. Solicitor Stanley Lederman Mayor Joe Baran We will be passing one Ordinance and one Resolution tonight. Looking forward to working with Council, Police, Fire, EMC, EMS, and Public Works. Borough Manager Bill Etherington Are report was given on finances. The 2024 Budget will be presented at the November Caucus meeting. Final approval of the budget will be at the December Council meeting. Police Chief Charles Rozzo Congratulations to all. Police report was given: 186 calls for the month, 1601 for the year. The 3-11 shift has increased in call volume. We responded to a medic call at Red Robin in Homestead. Officers Titmus and Shomo responded with AED. There was also a doctor present at the restaurant. Fire Chief John Dindak Congratulations to all. Responded to a fire in Swissvale. Fire Report given: 285 calls for the year, 36 calls for the month. Plenty of gas leaks. Reminder: Change batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Thanks, on behalf of the Dindak family. They all appreciated the get together. Baldwin EMS Congratulations to all. Report for September: 44 calls this month and 441 calls year to date. Last month the response time was 6.2 minutes. Year to date response time is 6.4 minutes. Emergency Management Coordinator: Dan Churma Several new deputies are in training. Congratulations to all. Fresh new ideas: Facebook page for Emergency Management. Public Works Director Glenn Guckes Grass growing is slowing down, and we are taking care of clean ups. The new garbage truck came in last week and are awaiting the new decals from 3CSigns. It will be on the road next Tuesday. Steel Rivers Council of Governments: Ashley Cain Housecleaning items. Audit has passed. There will be a free virtual 1-hour training course on suicide prevention. It is open to the Ag grant application from the Federal Government to help get people back in the Workforce. This will help with resumes, childcare, and transportation. public. It will be advertised on the Website and Facebook. Steel Valley Enterprise Zone: Dave Harhai Congratulations to all. Meeting next Monday on the new Director position. COMMITTEE REPORTS Community Affairs: Barb Ferson, Chair Clean-up will be on October 14th from 9:30 am until noon. We will meet at the firehall. The costume contest is at 5:30 pm at Calhoun field. Trick or treat will begin at 6:00 pm until 7:30pm. December 1st will be Lite-Up Night at 6:15pm. December 2nd will be the parade. Next year would like to get the Boy Scouts to work on the Concession Stand at Calhoun Field. Personnel, Rose Scolieri Congratulations to all. Nor report. Sewer Management: Ashley Cain We have applied for a grant for 271K. The northern district is completely done with the cameras. Mark stated we are on track with the consent order for the first year. The gas company repaired the pipe on Breezewood. Legislation Additional Agenda Items (Motions): 1.
