OFASTA  TOWN OF ASTATULA MAYOR AND COUNCIL SUMMARY MINUTES  COUNCILWORKSHOP TUESDAYIUNEZ1,2022  TOWN HALL  SINCE  1872  Having been duly advertised as required by law, Mayor Mitchell Mack called the workshop to order at 8:25 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was said at the preceding Special Council Meeting.  Members Present: Mitchell Mack, Mayor Gayle Sikkema Orita Issartel Zane Teeters Absent:  Also Present: Graham Wells, Town Clerk Wally Hoagland, Police Chief  Stephen Cross, Vice-Mayor  Roll Call was performed, and it was determined that a quorum was present. He welcomed Karen DISCUSSION ONTHE RESIDUAL GRANT AWARD FOR THE POLICE DEPT.- CHIEF HOAGLAND The chief stated that back in January, hel had asked direction from the council to apply fora al Residual Fund Grant. Hel had applied for $150,000 and was pre-awarded $140,000." The: application still has to He added that the money had to be spent on the things that he put in the application. This was two fully equipped patrol vehicles, ten Dell laptop computers for the cars with docking stations and a new Dell server for the police department. He was bringing this to the council's attention because once the grant is awarded, he has to spend the money within a given time period. He: also wanted to give the Tahoe to the School Resource Officer and have it wrapped as a SRO vehicle. The Mayor also announced that the town was to receive a $75,000 technical assistance The Chief went over the options to engage an attorney to deal with the warranty issue that the town had with the Ford interceptor Turbo. He said that the attorney wanted $400.00 per hour to take on the case, win orl lose.
