Minutes October 20, 2010 San Anselmo Historical Commission Meeting Judy Coy convened the meeting of the members of the San Anselmo Historical Commission at Members present: Liz Anderson, Judy Coy, Tom Hendricks, John Maher, Wendy Sylvia, Joan 7:30 pm on October 20, 2010 in the Museum. Vermond, Cathy' White. Others in Attendance: Linda Kenton, new Town Librarian Minutes from the meeting of September 15, 2010 were approved (Sylvia/White) Judy introduced and welcomed. Linda Kenton, the new Town Librarian. Linda is anxious to learn more about the Commission's activities and plans to attend the meetings frequently. Judy reminded Commissioners of their responsibility to complete the Ethics Training again this Treasurer's Report: Joan reported a balance of $723.50 and then a deposit of $50.00 to leave the year. final balance at $773.58. Oral History Project: No report. Update on New Museum website: Judy showed the new website tot the Commission. Judy has been loading pictures and resources into the site and she expects the site to go "live" soon. ColectonsDatabase Acquisition: Dolly Frauens donated scrapbooks from the San Anselmo Tennis Club. In addition, a donation of "N" scale" railroad pieces was received. They might be used New Hallway Displays: Judy took down the 4th of July flags and added orange leaves. Judyi is Composition of the Historical Commission: A resolution was approved by the Town Council sO the official size of the Commission is now 11 people. We are currently 10 people with one vacancy. in a future display. looking for loans of vintage holiday ornaments for the next display theme. Museum Docents: No change in the schedule. Then & Now Articles for San Anselmo/Fairfax Patch: A new online newspaper has approached the Historical Commission with an offer to pay $100 per week for Then & Now articles. Each article is toi include a historical photograph and a current one of the same location with a few paragraphs of narrative explaining the photos. It was agreed to give it a try and see how it goes. December Event Idea: Discussion tol host a Museum Open House in December and whether it would be best to hold it in conjunction with the Downtown Merchants' open house event. The Museum Open House would include refreshments and Ben Burtt's latest video screened in the Next week: Three classes of second graders will visit the Museum and go on a historical walking tour. Dick is assisting next week. Four additional classes want to come in December. Wendy and Council Chambers. Joan volunteered to help.
