Open Time for Public Expression Debbie Stutsman will attend meetings periodically from this point forward. Greetings from Matt Brasler, now a member of Planning Commission. 6. Speaker: Peter Yolles on water conservation and product, 15-minute limit, 20% of state energy use goes to heating, retrieving and using water. Marin Municipal Water District does not track water use by day. Reports monthly Barbara Thornton will be absent for several months. followed by Q&A Company - WaterSmart CCF usage only. Water use is function of people, not size of home. Chart - Australia uses only 40 gallons/person = VS. 120+ in U.S. WaterSmart offers personalized home water reports. Includes rebate programs available for town, Personalized reports enable people to think more about water use. Taking some action to conserve - even 1 action per year = can make a significant difference. Try to reduce by 2%. Will also enable a city/town to reduce costs. 1year, 6 billing cycles Serves as a consultantivendor to cities WaterSmart's first contract is with City of Cotati - pilot program is there, Towork, just 10 percent of people would need to take action to make WaterSmart worthwhile Cost- - $5/home per year, plus $2.50 set up fee. Would like to consider a MMWD partnership. 7. BYOB (bring your own bags) update re posters and suit against county (Sita, Woody read from speech Sita gave to Environmental Forum in Marin on March 12. Sita reported (via email) that Safeway in San Anselmo posted the MYOB flyers on Barbara) the screens for their cash registers. 8. Green Fair update (Chantal/Lea, Barbara) Not much progress yet. QOLI letter to PUC - they responded. PUC will not take any action at all. They're waiting for Huffman bill to go through Assembly, and then the Senate.
