Minutes May 16, 2012  San Anselmo Historical Commission Meeting  Judy Coy convened the meeting of the members of the San Anselmo Historical Commission at Members present: Liz Anderson, Judy Coy, Tom Hendricks, Dick Miner, Antone Sousa, Wendy  7:30 pm on May 16, 2012 in the Museum.  Sylvia, Joan Vermond  Welcome new Commissioner Antone Sousa Agenda for the. meeting was approved  Minutes from the meeting of April 18, 2012 were approved. (Hendricks/Miner).  Treasurer's Report: Joan reported that there was no activity for the Wells account for this month sO Oral History Project: Dick interviewed. Dick Kientz for two hours and had a great time! He will shortly be conducting ani interview with Virginia Dziomba who is 92 years old and lives on Los  the balance is maintained at $1376.06.  Angeles.  Collections/Database Acquisition: Judy shared the following:  1) She spent quite a bit of time going through Patricia Byrne's slides but only found about 12 2) She received an email from Charlie Kennard regarding the stone balls, formerly thought to be- clay-balls made by the Miwok. It is now thoughtthat the balls might be naturally New Hallway Displays: Wendy and Judy will be meeting on May 26th to put up the new hallway display. Wendy is working on the captions for the display which will be called "Destination San Arcadia Book on San Anselmo: Judy has accomplished a "rough through" on the book. Chapter topics include 1)Land Grants and Early Settlers, 2) the Creek, 3)Railroad, 4) Seminary, 5) Becoming a Town, 6) Sleepy Hollow, 7) Businesses, 8) Family and Community Life. Some intros  slides relevant to Marin history.  occurring. We need to consult with a geologist.  Anselmo"  have been written for some of the chapters.  Docent Schedule: Schedule looks good. Dick is filling in for Judy one Tuesday. Country Fair Day Planning: Country Fair Dayi is coming up September 30th from 10-4pm. Discussion topics toi include whether we sell postcards and lead tours downtown. Misc: Judy will presnt a talk on "San Anselmo, Now & Then" for the Library on June 30, at 3pm. Dick and Judy will conduct a walking tour for approximately 40 women on June 18 at 6:30.  Adjournment to June 20, 2012 Meeting ended at 8:10pm Liz Anderson - Secretary
