FAX: (805)4 434-4820 FIRE & EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at: 3:00 p.m. The Fire and Emergency Management Committee met on June 19, 2024, at; 3:00 p.m. in the' TCSD Board Room located at 206 5th Street, Templeton, CA and via Zoom Present were Committee Members Navid Fardanesh, Wayne Petersen and Keith Aggson. Present from District Staff were General Manager Jeff Briltz, Fire ChiefTom Peterson, Board Secretary Keri Dodson, Fire Captain Brandon Wall, Fire Captain Rob Baker, Fire Captain Phillip Goldbloom, Fire Engineer Cameron Rodlin, Firefighter Teleconference. Logan Knuckles and Firefighter Ryan Clayton Status ofUSDA Grant GM Briltz provided a brief update for the Committee on the grant status. The application has been submitted and we are: now waiting for grant approval. 2) Review of] Engine Proposals Chief Peterson outlined the process that was taken to request engine bids. He went over thel bids that had been received, including the: specs that were and were: not met by each bidder. Two bids were to be excluded as they had not met the requirements. The Committee was in favor ofmoving forward with the lowest bid from South Coast. 3) Tour of Fire Station Chief Peterson took the Committee on a tour oft the existing Fire Station. Chief Peterson walked the Committee through an updated, scaled back station expansion concept, including cost estimates. The Committee was in favor oftaking the next steps with this new concept, which would be requesting an updated design 4) Station Expansion Concept Review proposal from the architect. There are: five properties that are scheduled to be abated by the District's contractor. 6) Operations Reivew - Shift Coverage Chief Peterson went over the current shift coverage model with the Committee. There was a concern of overtime due to SAFER Grant positions being covered when that staff member is out sick or on vacation. It was: requested that overtime costs be closely monitored. 7) 2025SAFER Grant - Requirements Review Chief Peterson discussed the SAFER Grant with the Committee. He is waiting confirmation, but it does not appear that we can apply fori the grant again for the same positions. 8) Service Calls Discussion thet types of service calls. 9) Future Items agenda.
