Charles Stephens is present for this meeting to speak to request acceptance ofa a manufactured home on. his property. Mr. Stephens currently lives on Richter Road and is looking to move onto his empty lot after retirement in the next year or so. Mr. Stephens would prefer an older manufactured home than what the city allows but is still looking at options. City Attorney Mike Guevara advises the commission that this item was brought forward by the citizens. The code compliance department had been issuing code violation notices to remove shipping crates, and the citizens responded by attending City Council meetings to voice their request to allow the containers as accessory buildings. Commissioner Matthew Hyatt has concerns of allowing shipping crates into residential districts as he feels they are an eyesore and will rust over time. City Attorney Mike Guevara states there will be standards set for the containers where they will have to be maintained and out of view from the road.
