Nizon,  Est. 1906  Nixon City Council Minutes for 5.13.2024 Special Meeting  The Nixon City Council met in Regular Session on the 13th day of May 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Members present were Mayor Dorothy Riojas, Justin La Fleur, Maggie Gaytan, Ellie Dominguez, Patsy Scherrer, Patricia Dingler, Tanya Torres, Jeremy Bustos, Darryl Becker, Chief Miguel Cantu, Briana Dominguez, Adolph Trigo, Emmanuel Veliz, Judge Deidra Voigt, Hector Dominguez. Jr., Gilbert Soto, Jack Rogers, Rosemary Rogers, Otilia Trigo, Shannon Smith, Becky Smith, Cali Smith, Beau Smtih. Aquorum was declared present, and Madame Mayor Dorothy Riojas called the meeting to order at 5:32  Chambers at City Hall 302 E. Central Ave Nixon, TX 78140.  p.m.  Roll call was conducted. All council members were present.  Mayor Dorothy Riojas said a prayer. And the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America and the  State of Texas was recited. There were no citizens to be Heard.  A motion was made by Maggie Gaytan and seconded by Justin La Fleur to approve the canvassing of the May 4th, 2024, City of Nixon General Elections and accepting the results. Motion carried 5-0. Judge Deidra Voigt administered an Oath of Office to the Newly Elected Mayor Ellie Dominguez. Mayor Ellie Dominguez administered an Oath of Office to the Newly Elected Council Members Jack Rogers A motion was made by. Justin La Fleur and seconded by Patricia Dingler to adjourn the meeting. Motion  and Shannon Smith. carried 5-0.
