San Anselmo Open Space Committee Minutes of the meeting of June 19, 2019 Present: Jonathan Braun (JB), Nancy Grover(NG), Leonard Charles (LC), Stan Radtke (SR), Kathy Sanders (KS), Linda Hoch (LH), Ren Voss (RV), Peter Horn (PH), Phoebe Weisiger-Vallas (PW, and Karin Ludwig (KL). Elise Simonean (ES) Absent: Danny Krebs, Paul Foxx, Linda Hoch (LH) The meeting was called to order by Stanley Radtke, chairperson of the SAOSC at 7:30 PM at the Town Council Chambers. A quorum was present. 1. Minutes of May Meeting on and passed unanimously. 2. Treasurer's Report Minutes of May 15 were considered by the committee. The minutes were voted KS delivered the treasurer's report. The current totals are as follows: Checking: $1000; Savings: $71,757; Checking Fund: $200; Savings Fund: $54,695; Total: 277,652. There has been $3,029 in donations. Ac one year CD paying 2.45% was opened at Union Bank in Los Angeles with a deposit of $150,000. 3. Measure A Funds The amount of Open Space designated funds though Measure A for 2019/2020 is $115,373. 4. Youth Commissioners There were two pPlicants--current Youth Commissioner Phoebe Weisiger- Vallas and new applicant Katarina Radtke. Both were recommended by vote of the committee. 5. Consider Guidelines for Placement of Memorial Benches in Town Open Space One proposal is for a bench on Sunny Hills property. The committee discussed and voted that there is no objection to this bench "as itis on private property." Further discussion of whether benches are needed and what would be an appropriate design might be ensued. Steve Lamb of Laurel Avenue, in attendance, noted that San Anselmo is in the process of becoming an age friendly town and seniors may be benefited by having benches. The suggestion was made that there be a survey of what other jurisdictions and MMWD have done, including some photos. Paths Committee New San Anselmo signs have been designed and the sub-committee will meet with the Public Works Department to discuss signage.
