James Manspile Councilmember Marlon Rickman Councilmember Chris Petty 1Town Employee Town Attorney. Jon Puvak  Attending:  Mayor Craig Bryant called the. January 27, 2022 Emergency Council meeting to order at 7:00p.m. This meeting was held in Town Hall and by teleconference. Town Manager Susan McCulloch took roll call Mayor Bryant made a motion to goi into closed session under section 2.2-3711 paragraph 1: discussion, consideration, ori interviews of perspective candidates for employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, disciplining, or resignation of specific public officers, appointees, or employees of any public body. Also, pertaining to paragraph 7: consultation with legal council and briefings by staff members or consultants pertaining to actual or probable litigation where a consultation or briefing in an open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating or litigation posture of the public body. Then paragraph 8: Consultation with legal counsel employed or retained by public body regarding specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by such council. Councilmember Manspile seconded the motion. Mayor Bryant asked fori further discussion. With no  with five Council members present and established a quorum.  further discussion, the motion was carried by a vote of5-0. Closed Session started at 7:02pm. Council returned from closed session at 9:30pm.  Mayor Bryant made a motion to certify that to the best of Council's knowledge, only business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements under this chapter and only such public business matters as were identified in the motion were heard discussed or considered in the meeting. Councilmember Petty seconded the motion. Mayor Bryant asked fori further discussion. With no further  discussion, the motion was carried with a vote of5-0.  1    Mayor Bryant made a motion to adjourn with a second from Councilmember Manspile.
