Borough of New Morgan Berks County, Pennsylvania Borough Council Regular Meeting Minutes April 10* 2023 The regular meeting oft the New Morgan Borough Council was advertised for Monday, April 10", 2023, following the NMB Utilities Authority meeting at 7:00pm in the offices oft thel Borough of New Morgan, 200 Bethlehem Drive, Suite 104, Morgantown, PA. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Tressie Marroon-Bailey at 7:07 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Connie Brown-Weber, Mayor Attending Officials: Tressie M. Marroon-Bailey, President Doreen Smith, Vice-President Connie Brown-Weber, Mayor Borough Staff: Ashlyn Whittingham, Borough Manager/Secretary Thomas Barbine, Finance Director Guests: William Bailey, Scolt Cahill residents; Andrew Hoffman, Caernarvon resident. Public Comment: Andrew Hoffman, a resident of Caernarvon Township, was in attendance. Andrew asked what the purpose for the clearing oft the Tailings Dam land was. Ashlyn informed Andrew the private landowner was clearing land for potential development in the future. Ashlyn confirmed to Andrew that nothing has been formally submitted to the Borough for the potential development to date. Minutes: Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed. Christopher Weber motioned to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Doreen Smith seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. The motion carried. Correspondence: None The following reports weres submitted to Borough Council: Codes Enforcement Officer: None Sewage Treatment Plant: None Engineer/SEO: None Solicitor: None Treasurer: Treasurer reports were presented to council and reviewed Borough Manager: None Council. Fire Department: The Twin Valley Fire Department. sent the monthly report, and it was presented to EMS: The February report was received from the Chief of Operations for EMS, Matthew Welch. Doreen Smith motioned to approve the reports as given Christopher Weber seconded the motion. Mayor: Nothing to present The vote was unanimous. The motion carried. Business: A. The Borough Council Approved Resolution No. 2023-2; required by Act 57 for tax collectors to waive all interest, fees and penalties ifH he/she didn'treceive their tax bill. Christopher Weber motioned to approve Resolution No. 2023-2 and Doreen Smith seconded the motion.
