The Hobart Arena Dehumidifiers consist of two major units that have been in place for approximately twenty years, have exceeded the useful life span for such equipment, and have become unreliable. Int the last quarter of 2023, the Recreation Director commenced working with a consultant for the design of a new humidifier system. Those plans are nearing completion, and the consultant has provided an estimated replacement cost of $450,000. That amount was included in the 2024 Capital Improvement Fund (Fund 441)approved budget. At the. January 17 meeting of the Recreation Board, the Board approved ar motion requesting that Council authorize the bidding of the project. Titterington, Director of Public Service and Safety Re SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION FOR Al LEAD SAFE OHIO PROGRAM PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH RECOMMENDATION: BACKGROUND: That Council authorizes the Director of Public Service and Safety to execute a Program Year (PY) 2023 Lead Safe The Ohio Department of Development has made $95 million in American Rescue Plan Act, State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) available to conduct lead abatement services in residential properties, congregate care settings, and childcare facilities constructed before 1978. The purpose is to promote primary prevention and reduce immediate or presumed lead hazards such as lead contaminated dust, lead contaminated bare soil, and chipping The Lead Safe Ohio Program funds will be available on: an allocation basis to all of Ohio's 88 counties. Miami County has applied and received funds for PY: 2023 Lead Safe Ohio Program with funding of $710,000 for use in 2024-2026 Individual projects can include residential waterline replacement, window and door replacement, siding enclosure, soffit enclosure, fascia enclosure, porch component repair, replacement, or enclosure, and auxiliary items necessary for lead mitigation and prevention for qualifying area medium income (AMI) households. Households with incomes at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI) are eligible and shall be prioritized. Households with incomes over 80% of AMI may be considered if they meet the Housing Insecurity and Home Value Limit criteria. RECOMMENDATION: BACKGROUND: That Troy City Council authorizes Notwithstanding: Legislation for a Troy Main Street, Inc. event (April 7, 2024) and a Miami County will experience a solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, between 1:53 p.m. and 4:25 p.m., with Troyi in the path of totality for 3 minutes and 45 seconds starting at 3:11 p.m. It is anticipated that there will be many visitors to this area for the eclipse. Nearly every Miami County community is planning events and or an event; nearly every school int the county has announced closures or earlyr release that day; and camping will take place at both the Miami County Fairgrounds and WACO. In recent months, meetings have been taking place with representatives from entities throughout the county involved in planning related events, as well as separate meetings between the various safety departments and EMA.
