Titterington, Director of Public Service and Safety  R  July2,2024 WIDENING PHASE1  OPWC ROUND 39 GRANT APPLICATION - WEST MARKET STREET (SR55)  RECOMMENDATION:  That Council authorizes the Director of Public Service and Safety to submit an application toi the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) for funding of the West Market Street (SR55) Corridor Improvement Project The City plans to apply for OPWC funding the multi-year project of improvements to the West Market Street (SR 55) corridor. The scope of the West Market Street Corridor Improvement Project will include the widening of roadway with new curb, gutter, sidewalks and/or recreation trail improvements as well as associated storm water piping. Sanitary and water lines willl be relocated as necessary for conflict points. For OPWC Round 39 (applications due August 5), staff will request funding for the Phase improvements. Phasel lis the area of West Market Street between Parkview Drive and 2433West Market Street. A portion of Phase I, between Parkview Drive and Kenton Way, will just be striping changes to match the new The pre-design estimate for Phase lis approximately $1,981,061, with $600,000 being requested in OPWC funding. $600,000 is the maximum amount off funding that can be awarded for Round 39 construction.
