Borough of New Morgan Berks County, Pennsylvania Borough Council Regular Meeting Minutes June 10t, 2024 The regular meeting of the New Morgan Borough Council was advertised for Monday, June 10"at7 7:00pm in the offices ofthe Borough ofNew Morgan, 200 Bethlehem Drive, Suite 104, Morgantown, PA. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Tressie M. Marroon-Bailey at 7:05 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Connie Brown-Weber, Mayor. Attending Officials: Tressie M. Marroon-Bailey, President Doreen Smith, Vice-President Christopher C. Weber, Member Connie Brown-Weber, Mayor Borough Staff: Ashlyn Whittingham, Borough Vamgeserupfreaur Guests: William Bailey, Scott Cahill residents. John Porter, Fire Department Public Comment: None Minutes: Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed. Christopher Weber motioned to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Doreen Smith seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. The motion carried. Correspondence: Borough Manager informed council that NMB's sewer engineer firm submitted an application on NMB's Borough Manager updated council on the H20 Grant the Borough applied for. We are waiting on the behalfto renew the WWTP NPDES Permit. CFA'st to approve the contract and to submit the final documentation. The following reports were submitted to Borough Council: Codes Enforcement Officer: None Sewage Treatment Plant: None Engineer/SEO: None Solicitor: None Borough Manager: were 0 calls in the Borough. Mayor: Nothing to present unanimous. The motion carried. Treasurer: Treasurer reports were presented to council and reviewed Fire Department: The Twin Valley Fire Department sent the monthly report, and it was presented to Council. There EMS: Chief of Operations for EMS, Matthew Welch, sent the monthly report, and it was presented to Council. Doreen Smith motioned to approve the reports as given Christopher Weber seconded the motion. The vote was Borough ofNew Morgan Berks County, Pennsylvania Business: A. The Borough Council made a motion to approve the Paving Project located on Mountz Road with the bid that was proposed to Robeson Township by H&K group in the amount of $48,710.15 for NMB'sp portion oft the road. This approval will be contingent based onl NMB's solicitors request of ai intermunicipal agreement. Doreen Smith made that motion and Christopher Weber seconded it. B. The Borough Council approved the quote from SOLVE-IT for $425.001 to add a VPN cloud, which will allow the Borough Manager tol have remote access to all files. The Borough Council approved the final quote from SOLVE-IT for $1,640 to update the Borough's firewall router. Doreen Smith made that motion and Christopher Weber seconded it. D. The Borough Council approved the engagement letter submitted by Nick Burton from Lopez, Teodosio & Larkin, LLC to provide accounting and consulting services to the Borough.
