Borough of New Morgan Berks County, Pennsylvania Borough Council Regular Meeting Minutes May 13+, 2024 The regular meeting oft the New Morgan Borough Council was advertised for Monday, April gth at 7:00pm ini the offices oft the Borough ofNew Morgan, 200 Bethlehem Drive, Suite 104, Morgantown, PA. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Tressie M. Marroon-Bailey at 7:07 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Connie Brown-Weber, Mayor. Attending Officials: Tressie M. Marroon-Bailey, President Doreen Smith, Vice-President Christopher C. Weber, Member Connie Brown-Weber, Mayor Borough Staff: Ashlyn Whittingham, Borough Manager/Secretary Thomas Barbine, Finance Director Guests: William Bailey, Scott Cahill residents. Public Comment: None Minutes: Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed. Christopher Weber motioned to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Doreen Smith seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. The motion carried. Correspondence: Borough Manager informed council that the Borough accepted a quote of $790.00 to replace all UV lights on the STP UV disinfectant system. The following reports were submitted to Borough Council: Codes Enforcement Officer: None Sewage Treatment Plant: None Engineer/SEO: None Solicitor: None Borough Manager: Treasurer: Treasurer reports were presented to council and reviewed Borough Manager informed council that all bank statements were submitted to do the 5-year Arbitrage Calculation for the New Morgan Municipal Authority Revenue Bonds. Fire Department: The Twin Valley Fire Department sent the monthly report, and it was presented to Council. There were 6 calls in the Borough. 5 were automatic alarms from Abraxas and a vehicle accident located on RT 10. EMS: ChiefofOperations for EMS, Matthew Welch, sent the monthly report, and it was presented to Council. There were 2 calls in the Borough. Mayor: Nothing to present Borough of New Morgan Berks County, Pennsylvania Doreen Smith motioned to approve the reports as given Christopher Weber seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. The motion carried. Business: A. The Borough Council made a motion to donate the requested amount of$135.00 to the Village Library of Morgantown. Christopher Weber made that motion and Doreen Smith seconded it. The B. The Borough Council approved the Borough Manager to discuss a paving project for Mountz Road with Robeson Township. Doreen Smith made that motion. Christopher Weber seconded it. vote was unanimous. The motion carried. The vote was unanimous. The motion carried.
