Borough of New Morgan Berks County, Pennsylvania Borough Council Regular Meeting Minutes February 12, 2024 The special meeting oft the New Morgan Borough Council was advertised for Monday, February 12th at 7:00pm in the offices oft the Borough ofl New Morgan, 200 Bethlehem Drive, Suite 104, Morgantown, PA. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Tressie M. Marroon-Bailey at 7:03 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Doreen Smith, Vice-President. Attending Officials: Tressie M. Marroon-Bailey, President Doreen Smith, Vice-President Christopher C. Weber, Member Connie Brown-Weber, Mayor -N/A Borough Staff: Ashlyn Whittingham, Borough Manager/Secretary Thomas Barbine, Finance Director Guests: William Bailey, Scott Cahill residents. Public Comment: None Minutes: Minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed. Christopher Weber motioned to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Doreen Smith seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. The motion carried. Correspondence: A. Ashlyn Whittingham informed the Borough Council that our Solicitor changed their name oft the firm. Nicole Plank, Esquire went from Georgeadis Setley to Plank Frankowski AttomeysatLaw. The following reports were submitted to Borough Council: Codes Enforcement Officer: None Sewage Treatment Plant: None Engineer/SEO: None Solicitor: None Borough Manager: None Mayor: Nothing to present unanimous. The motion carried. Treasurer: Treasurer reports were presented to council and reviewed Fire Department: The Twin Valley Fire Department sent the monthly report, and it was presented to Council. EMS: The report was received from the ChelorOperations for EMS, Matthew Welch. Doreen Smith motioned to approve the reports as given Christopher Weber seconded the motion. The vote was Borough ofl New Morgan Berks County, Pennsylvania Business: A. The Borough Council acknowledged the termination oft the 2006 Consent Order and Agreement, TMDL Companion Agreement and Memorandum of Understating between Southern Berks Land Company and New Morgan Borough. Doreen Smith made that motion. Christopher Weber seconded it. The vote was B. The Borough Council made a motion to approve the Borough President to execute the 2024 Twin Valley Fire Department agreement for the donation in the amount of$19,000.00 from New Morgan Borough. Christopher Weber made that motion. Doreen Smith seconded it. The vote was unanimous. The motion unanimous. The motion carried. carried.
