Teller County EMS Council Minutes May 16, 2024 Meeting called to order. Members / Agencies Present (roll call): Eric Murray (SWTCEMS), Susan Bernstetter (LGFPD), Dave Hansher (UPRHSD), Dave Rial (NETCO), James McLaughlin (UPRHSD), Jessica Flohrs (TCOEM), Jay Teague (TCOEM), Chris Hawkins (4MFPD), Jennifer Tobias (WPPD), JTI McLeod, Steve Murphy (GMFFD), Dave Quick (FFPD), Roger Coker (TCSO), Jeff Force (UC Health), Tyler Stevens (GMFFD), Diann Pritchard CC Dispatch), Tucker Freed (S&R/Victor FD), Mary Higgins (TCDPHE), Jessie Avery CC Dispatch), Joe O'Conor (CCFD), Dan Battin (EI Paso County SO), Abbie Yarger (MCFPD), Tim Dienst (UPRHSD). Financials: $2,074.91 was reverted to Teller County for 2023. Teller EMS: 10,000, Teller RETAC: $69,360.94, Teller EMS Training: $5,391.80, Teller' Wilderness: 8,168.18, Total $92,920.92. New Business: AMOU with UCH-MHS has been established between UCI Health and Dr. Keenan for him to bea a Medical Director working thigh UCI Health.. Jeff Force said his position with UC Health is being eliminated at the end of June, and his boss, Nick Stremble, will assume his duties on top of The EMS Liaison position has been posted, but the job description isn't correct and needs to be Reimbursement Requests. UPRHSD: $1,140.54 for EMS Day at the Capital & EMS on the Hill from RETAC Funds. Joe motioned to approve reimbursement, Chris seconded, motion passed. Pikes Peak' Wilderness Task Force refund requests at $500 each: Victor FD, NETCO, Florissant FPD, TCS&R, LGFPD, and Divide FPD. Dave Hansher motioned to approve all, Joe O'Conor seconded, motion passed. UPRHSD: submitted a reimbursement for $10,0001 for Pulse Point which provides the location of AED's in the community. It was discussed that El Paso Teller E911 Authority should cover the $10,000. The money requested is fors start up only, which: should come out of RETAC funds. This item was tabled until Kim Schallenberger, the Plains to Peaks RETAC Director, can be consulted. It was also discussed for approximately $10,000 to be used from the RETAC funds to relocate the Moto Turbo repeater on Badger Mountain using RETAC funds.. Joe O'Conor motioned to approve the request, Dave Rial seconded, motion passed. Wilderness Medicine Reimbursements. See reimbursements under New Business. Task Force'sremaining funds. There is $5,168.00 Pikes Peak Medical Task Force funds remaining. Chris Hawkins motioned to open up round two of reimbursement requests, with the priority for the agencies who have not requested wildland reimbursement yet, Joe O'Conor Awards: Abbey Yarger will take over the awards, and. Medical Director's minute: None Open for discussion: The Teller County Board of Health is concerned about oxygen issues such as when people are on concentrators and the power is out, and the lack of available oxygen. Some of the oxygen suppliers only come to Teller County every other week., James McLaughlin suggested thata Mineral or Energy Grant may help. It was discussed that a Task Force that is chaired by the Jay Teague met with Eric Murray and Tim Dienst to discuss whether the County should opti in for ground ambulance licensing. Eric and Tim both recommended that the County does opti in. Board of Health should be formed. The next meeting will be August 15, 2024, after the TCFC's meeting. Meeting Adjourned.
