MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 13, 2024 The City Council of the City of Navasota, Grimes County, Texas met at the City Council Chambers, Room No. 161, located at 200 E. McAlpine Street at 6:00 p.m., Navasota, Texas for a joint meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission on the above date with the following being present: Bernie Gessner, Mayor Pro-Tem, Place #1 Kenneth Stevens, City Councilmember, Place #: 2 Josh M. Fultz, Councilmember, Place #3 3 Bert Miller, Mayor, Place # 4 James Harris, counciimember, Place # 5 Thus constituting a quorum. STAFF PRESENT: Jason Weeks, City Manager; Susie M. Homeyer, City Secretary; and Lupe Diosdado, Development Services Director. VISITORS: Connie Clements, Philip Bargas and Brian McDonald. PLANNING & ZONING MEMBERS: John Walla, Todd Wisner, Carolynn Katkoski, THE ITEMS ON THE AGENDA WERE TAKEN UP IN DUE ORDER AS FOLLOWS: Debbie Hancock and Dia Copeland. 1. Mayor Bert Miller called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. Invocation was given by Dia Copeland. The City Council, staff members, Planning & Zoning members and visitors then recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and the Texas Flag. 3. Remarks of visitors: None. 4. A Aj joint workshop was held between the City Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission regarding a proposed residential townhome development by Bargas Development, LLC for the property located at 203 Veteran Memorial Drive, Navasota, Texas 77868 legally described as A0046 JI Moore, Tract 58, Acres 14.985. The developer requested staff to present a preliminary layout to the City Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission for direct feedback before they proceed with the development process and closing on the property for a 64+ townhome project. This project would require the City Council to annex the property into the city limits and a zoning change to accommodate the proposed development. 8.
