Nixon,  Est. 1906  Nixon City Council Minutes for 12.12.2022 Regular Meeting  The Nixon City Council met in Regular Session on the 12th day of December 2022 at 5:30 p.m. in the Members present were: Mayor Dorothy Riojas, Rene Amaya, Ellie Dominguez, Maggie Gaytan, MaryAnn Fatheree and Justin La Fleur.. Also present were Harold Rice, Tanya Torres, Jeremy Bustos, Chief Mike Cantu, Sgt. Bobby Caldwell, Donald Hoffman, Dorothy Alexander, Nona Bruce, Michael Scherer, and Patsy Quorum was declared present, and the meeting was called to order by Madame Mayor Dorothy Riojas at Prayer was given by Mary Ann Fatheree. And the pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America and Dorothy Alexander addressed the council under citizen's to be heard regarding loud music in her  Council Chambers at City Hall 302 E. Central Ave Nixon, TX 78140.  Scherer.  5:31 p.m. Councilman Justin La Fleur came in at 5:33 p.m.  the State of Texas was recited.  neighborhood. her neighborhood. city entrances. neighborhood.  Nona Bruce addressed the council under citizen's to be heard regarding loud music as well in and around Donald Hoffman addressed the council under citizen's to be heard on updates on the monuments for the Michael Scherer addressed the council under citizen's to be heard regarding the dog issues around his Patsy Scherer addressed council under citizen's to be heard regarding dog issues around the City of Nixon. Justin LaFleur to approve the Resolution for Operation Lone Star Grant FY 2023 for the Nixon Police Department. Motion carried 5-0 No action was taken on necessary 2022-2023 budget amendments pursuant to items listed on the  current agenda.    "Motion was made by. City Manager Harold Rice gave the city manager report. He discussed the upcoming meeting with the Gonzales County Water District on Wednesday at 10 a.m., and that he and the Utility director Jeremy Bustos had an interview with the Gonzales Inquirer regarding water issues. He also spoke about the success of the Christmas Lighted Parade and that in a few weeks there would be a meeting to go over the dos and don'ts that were learned. The City manager also talked about the upcoming Cinco de Motion was made by Maggie Gaytan and seconded by Justin La Fleur to adjourn.
