RESOLUTION #012-23  A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DE LEON, TEXAS CANVASSING THE RESULTS OF THE MAY 6, 2023 GENERAL ELECTION FOR AT LARGE COUNCILMEMBERS FOR PLACETHREE, PLACE FOURAND WHEREAS, an election was held at the City of De Leon, Texas, on May 6, 2023 for the purpose of a General Election for at large Council Members for Place Three, Place Four and Place  PLACE FIVE.  Five;  WHEREAS, the City Council of the City ofDe Leon (the "City Council") has reviewed and investigated all matters pertaining to this election, including the ordering of the election, notices,  election officials, conducting the election and returns thereof;  WHEREAS, the City Council, hereby, canvasses the returns of this election, at which there was submitted to all resident qualified electors of the City of De Leon for their action thereupon, the General Election for at large Council Members for Place Three, Place Four and Place Five;  WHEREAS, the City of De Leon has diligently inquired into the poll lists and the official election returns which were duly and lawfully made to the City Council by the judges and clerks holding and conducting the election; the poll list and the official election returns showing separately the resident, qualified voters casting votes in the election and the number ofvotes cast in the election; WHEREAS, from these returns, this City Council hereby finds that the following votes were WHEREAS, each of the candidates in said election received the following votes:  cast in the election by voters who were resident, qualified electors of the City; and  CANDIDATES  NUMBER OFVOTES  Place Three Council Member:  Laura Brown Thom Clayton  82 13  Place Four Council Member:  Diana Klepac  70  Place Five Council Member:  Lisa Amick  78  Resolution # 012-23; Canvassing May 6, 2023 General Election for Place Three, Four, and Five  Page 1  City ofDeLeon 05/2023    NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCILOFTHE CITYOF Section1. The City Council officially finds, determines, and declares that the election was duly  DEI LEON, TEXAS, THAT  and properly ordered; that proper legal notice of such election was duly given in the English language and the Spanish language; that proper election officials were duly appointed prior to the election; that the election was duly and legally held; that all resident, qualified electors of the City of De Leon were permitted to vote at the election; that returns oft the results of the election have been made and delivered; and that the City of De Leon has duly canvassed such returns, all in accordance with the laws of the State ofTexas and of the United States of America and the resolution The following person is elected to the Office of Place Three Council Member fora  calling the election. term oft two (2) years:  Section 2.
