CITY OF SCHULENBURG SCHULENBURG, TX May, 17, 2021 The City Council of the City of Schulenburg met in regular session on Monday, May 17th, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. int the Council Chambers located at 607 Upton. Avenue, Schulenburg, Texas. The elected officials present included Mayor Elaine Kocian, Aldermen Greg Thomas, Wendy Fietsam, Clarence Ahlschlager, and Larry Veselka. City Staff present were City Administrator, Tami Walker, Operations' Manager, Darryl Moeller, Billing/Utility Manager, Megan Bartos, and Visitors included Layne Vyvjala oft the Schulenburg Sticker, Pastor Lemae Higgs, EDC President, Paddy Magliolo, Ned Brown and Ramsey Cripe of Schneider Engineering, and Ivân Mayor Kocian called role and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Mrs. Walker led discussion on Executive Order GA-34 Lifting the Masks Mandate while Canceling COVID-19 protocols in all City Buildings. Mrs. Walker said the intention was to run parallel with Schulenburg ISD and nowi that school is about over, she feels we are at a point to Alderman Fietsam made a motion, seconded by Alderman Herzik, to lift the Mask Mandate. The Human Resources Officer, Mason Florus, led discussion on a City Historic Preservation Ordinance in an effort to become a Certified Local Government through the Texas Historical Mr. Florus explained that he gathered more information, as Council requested, and was presenting the proposal again.
