CITY OF SCHULENBURG SCHULENBURG, TX July 18, 2022  The City Council of the City of Schulenburg met in regular session on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 6:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers located at 607 Upton Avenue, Schulenburg, Texas. The elected officials present included Mayor, Elaine Kocian, Aldermen Gregg Thomas, Wendy Fietsam, Larry' Veselka, and Clarence Ahlschlager. City Staff present were City Administrator, Tami Walker, Operations Manager, Darryl Moeller, and City Secretary, Mason Florus. Visitors included, Darrell Vyvjala oft the Schulenburg Sticker, Reverend Andrew Stafford, Irene Mayor Kocian called role and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Reverend Stafford said a prayer over Under Presentations by Citizens, Irene Handley addressed Council with concerns about her Under Consent Agenda, Mrs. Walker announced to Council that in reference to her Quarterly Investment Report, the beginning balance was $6,521,657.90. After withdrawing $376,316.76 out of reserves, the balance now sits at $6,145,341.14. The motion passed unanimously. Fire Marshal, Steve Strickland, and Operations Manager, Darryl Moeller's Reports were included in Council's Packets. Chief Brenek was absent and had no report. City Administrator, Tami Walker, reported the following to Council:  Labor Day Holiday.  The Ground Storage Tank at Henderson Hill is on line and fully operational  Supak is finishing up on the County Barn Lift Station  Mrs. Walker wanted to thank her staff for all their work in her absence due to her daughter's  wedding.    Alderman Veselka reported to Mrs. Walker that on. Anderson Street there is a basketball goal dug into the street and packed with rock. Alderman Veselka also asked ift the Police Officers would patrol City streets more often and be seen more in the community. Mrs. Walker said she Mrs. Walker proclaimed to Council that she is keeping ini touch with the Attorney and a draft for Alderman Veselka asked about Leon John Langhammer's property and plans of possible annexation. Mrs. Walker stated that Mr. Langhammer reached out tol her last week and he wants to schedule a meeting with herself and Kenny to discuss his short-term and long-term Alderman Veselka also inquired who is erecting the new building at the Fire Station.
