CITY OF SCHULENBURG SCHULENBURG, TX July 3, 2023 The City Council oft the City of Schulenburg met in regular session on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 6:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers located at 607 Upton Avenue, Schulenburg, Texas. The elected officials present included Mayor, Connie Koopmann, Aldermen, Greg Thomas, Larry Veselka, Scott Stoner, and Clarence Ahlschlager. City Staff present were City Administrator, Visitors included, Darrell Vyvjala of the Schuienburg Sticker, and Ivan Velasquez. Mayor Koopmann called role, Mason Florus said a prayer over the meeting and its members. Mayor Koopmann led the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge. Alderman Veselka made a motion, seconded by Alderman Thomas, to accept the Consent A. Minutes from the Regular Scheduled Council Meeting held on June 20, 2023 B. Minutes from the Pre-Budget Workshop held on June 27, 2023 Tami Waiker, and City Secretary, Mason Florus. Agenda. The motion passed unanimously. C. Payment of Current Bills Mrs. Walker led discussion on setting Budget Workshop Dates for the FY 2023-2024. Mrs. Walker stated that she wanted to set aside three dates to give the City plenty oft time because the City has certain advertising dates they have to meet for public hearing purposes. Alderman Thomas made a motion, seconded by Alderman Ahlschlager, to set the budget workshop dates for July 27", August 18t, and August 8th all at 4:00 P.M. and all at the City Hall Municipal Court Judge, Kayla Peters' report, Police Chief, Troy Brenek's report and Code Enforcement report, and Library Director, Thadious Polasek's report was included in Council's Multi-Purpose Room. Mrs. Walker reported the following to Council: The City ran two garbage trucks today because of the 4th of July Holiday tomorrow City Staff had a successful conference call in regards to the Ground Storage Tank at The City is currently advertising forj janitorial services to clean City Hall, The Warehouse, Henderson Hill. We should have an update next week The Civic Center, The Downtown Restrooms, and the Expo Center Wastewater Operator, Colton Dunk, turned in his two weeks' notice Holiday Inn had a couple outages and was out of water for a few hours There was a total of 10' Water, 3' Wastewater, 3 other, and 33 Electric outages this last Frank. Aguilar was hired for the garbage department as a rider and started today quarter Mrs. Walker concluded stating that she feels the pre-budget workshop was successful and sometime this week, a maintainer and forklift are going to be delivered to the warehouse for trial runs. Mrs. Walker invited Council to view the machines before potential purchases if they Alderman Stoner inquired about a grown-up ditch in a State Right-Of-Way. Alderman Stoner asked how that works with Code Enforcement and state property. Mrs. Walker stated that she'd have to get with Chief. She'll follow up with. Alderman Stoner as soon as she gets an answer. Alderman Veselka made a motion, seconded by Alderman Stoner, to adjourn the meeting at wish. 6:58 P.M. The motion passed unanimously.
