CITY OF SCHULENBURG SCHULENBURG, TX October 2, 2023 The City Council of the City of Schulenburg met in regular session on Monday, October: 2, 2023, at 6:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers located at 607 Upton Avenue, Schulenburg, Texas. The elected officials present included Mayor, Connie Koopmann, Aldermen, Greg Thomas, Frank Wick III, Larry Veselka, Scott Stoner, and Clarence Ahlschlager. City Staff present were City Administrator, Tami Walker, Operations Manager, Darryl Moeller, Chief of Police, Troy Brenek, Visitors included, Darrell Vyvjala of the Schulenburg Sticker, David Thompson, Schulenburg ISD Superintendnet, Dr. Julie Motomura, Seth, Landry, and Callan Helmcamp, Keri and John Ginn, Lance Zandonatti, Terry and Bryan Klesel, Ronnie Wick, Michael Maxwell, and Ivân Velasquez. Mayor Koopmann called role. Pastor Thompson said a prayer over the meeting and its members. Mayor Koopmann led the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge. Mayor Koopman read a Proclamation recognizing the First Baptist Church of Schulenburg's 150th anniversary and then presented it to Pastor Thompson and other members of the SISD Superintendent, Dr. Julie Motomura, spoke to Council in regards to the proposed bond Dr. Motomura stated that these proposals were decided on by the School Board after a committee made up of a myriad of school stakeholders met with a consulting firm. Alderman Wick professed that he would rather see the Alderman Veselka made a motion, seconded by Alderman Thomas, to transfer the funds to Mrs. Walker led discussion on setting a date for the City's Annual Christmas Party. Mrs. Walker informed Council that her and Mayor looked at the calendar and took other organizations' parties into consideration.
