MEETING AGENDA MINUTES LOMETA CITY COUNCIL 100 E SAN SABA ST, LOMETA TX 76853 COUNCIL CHAMBERS IN CITY HALL Meeting: SPECIAL MEETING Date: March 24, 2020 Time: 7 p.m. THE SUBJECTS TO BE DISCUSSED, CONSIDERED, OR ACTED UPON ARE AS FOLLOWS: (ITEMS DON NOTH HAVE TOI BE TAKEN IN THE SAME ORDER AS SHOWN ON THE MEETING NOTICE). CALL TO ORDER Mayor Carlos Garcia called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. II. INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Carlos Garcia led council and guest int the Pledge of Allegiance tot the American and Texas Flag and said the prayer. III. ROLL CALL Mayor Carlos Garcia was present. Council members Susan Hines, Shad Hill, Larry Koch, Marsha Laughlin were all present and James Dickison was absent. IV. OPEN FORUM: Sherriff Ramos came to the meeting and spoke about what the Sherriff's department was doing regarding COVID-19. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Consider and take action by giving approval to the Mayor of Lometa to enact, when deemed necessary, the Mayoral Local State of Disaster Declaration, due to the public health emergency caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). A motion as made by Shad Hill and a second by Marsha Laughlin to approve the Mayoral Local State of Disaster Declaration being passed by council. Larry Koch voted against it. Motion passed 4:1. (This Declaration was passed by the Council. Initially the Mayor can pass this at his discretion, without Council approval, but then it would expire in 7 days. Therefore, since Council passed this the first time it does not need Council approval.) 2. Discuss and take action by Ordinance 03242020 to postpone and reschedule the ordered May 2, 2020 General Election to occur with the November 3, 2020 Uniform Elections. A motion was made Susan Hines with a second by Larry Koch to approve a secondary document that was last minute given to council by the school district sO that was passed instead of the Ordinance 03242020 that was listed above. Iti is the same information and the same concept just reduced. Motion passed by unanimous vote. MUNICIPAL DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS, WHEN NECESSARY: MAYOR: Spoke about theft at Regional Park bathrooms. adjourn the meeting. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
