(S. Smith) This workshop is to hear presentations from each organization that turned in an application for Liberty Hill Community Support Funding before the deadline of] February 16. Below is the schedule as to when each organization will give their presentation. Due to the incredible response the City received to its call for Community Grant applications the city reduced the presentation time to seven (7) minutes each. 5:01 pm - 5:08 pm: Liberty Hill Youth Soccer Association Dennis Silva: Discussed the desire ofthe Youth Soccer. Association to have a grant in order to provide soccer scholarships to the economically disadvantaged. Their goal is to allow all students who wish toj play soccer an opportunity. The Youth program can run anywhere from $120 to The program has been growing steadily, for the last four years approximately 10% annual growth. Last year more than 700 students played in both the Recreational program and the Select Program. Last year we offered 30 scholarships for the program. They presented a four-minute video explaining many of the ways in which Operation Liberty Hill serves the community through donations, food pantry, and Thrift Shop. Page214 Liberty Hill City Council Workshop Meeting Minutes, February 28, 2024 5:22 pm - 5:29 pm: Hope House Erland Schultz spoke for Hope House and described the services that Hope House provides for the most profoundly mentally and physically disabled children in the community. The organization runs 41 homes in Liberty Hill where they provide 24/7 supervision and care. When we experience power outages, it creates at traumatic situation for our children, they do not We would like toj provide a generator for at least one oft the homes in Liberty Hill. Any help is understand why it is dark. appreciated, we eventually want to provide for all the homes. The generator will cost $20,000 for purchase and installation into the House. 5:29 pm - 5:36 pm: Liberty Hill Fair & Rodeo No speaker was present. 5:36] pm - 5:43 pm: Liberty Hill Lacrosse Inc No speaker was present. 5:43 pm - 5:50 pm: Williamson County Crisis Center/Hope Alliance Dr. Rick Brown with Hope Alliance spoke on behalfofthe grant request. The organization has been in existence for more than 40 years. Wej provide care for those who are victims ofdomestic violence. One in four women will experience domestic violence sometime in their lives. In 2023, 27 residents ofLiberty Hill were served by our organization last year, with 611 face-to- Whatever contribution the City makes to the organization, we will match three-fold. Page3]4 Liberty Hill City Council Workshop Meeting Minutes, February 28, 2024 5:50 pm - 5:57 pm: Willamson-Burnet County Opportunities Dori Yeater, Director of Development spoke regarding the services provided by Williamson- - Burnet County Opportunities. The most important one of these in the Liberty Hill area is the Meals on Wheels program. WBCO also provides Community Services through utility assistance. The goal ofWBCO is to empower children, family, and seniors to achieve and maintain 2023 we served 45 Senior clients from Liberty Hill served. This has almost doubled. We are now serving 86 active Liberty Hill seniors. We are requesting $10,000 for our Meals on Wheels The seniors who participate are served for free. The meals are nutritious and delicious. We provide nutrition and an opportunity for seniors to socialize with our volunteer drivers.
