TOWN OF NEW WINDSOR RESOLUTION NO. 07-05-23  WHEREAS, New Windsor became the fourth Town to be incorporated into Carroll WHEREAS, any African-American living in New Windsor wanting to seek a high school education had to travel to Robert Moton High School in Westminster, Maryland, a  County, Maryland, in 1844; and  trip of at least ten (10) miles one way; and  WHEREAS, the County operated high school was racially segregated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Mayor and Council of the Town of New Windsor support the creation of a Carroll County Museum of African-American  History and Education.  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Mayor and Council of the Town of New Windsor request the Commissioners of Carroll County do what is necessary to  establish such a museum.
