The Town ofNew Market 1793 Town Council Minutes General Session Apri125,2024-7 7:00 p.m. 40 South Alley, New Market, MD 21774 The Mayor and Council of the Town of New Market met in person and virtually via Zoom on Thursday, April 25, 2024, with Mayor Winslow Burhans presiding. Council members present were Dennis Kimble, Matt Chance, and Chris Weatherly (via Zoom). Councilmen Rossman and Wright were absent. Pat Faux, Zoning Administrator/lown Planner; Chris Goettge, The Faux Group; Steve Pippin, President of NMCP; and Debra Butler, Clerk-Treasurer (via Zoom), were also present. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. ADMINISTRATIVE BUSINESS The meeting minutes from March 14 and March 19, 2024, were deferred. CONTINUED BUSINESS PZand HDC Appointments Councilman Rossman was absent, sO the matter was continued until the next meeting. Speed Camera Disbursement Policy The matter was continued to the next meeting. NEW BUSINESS Offices Town Hall Space Planning- Authorization to Convert 2nd floor Conference Room into 2 Ms. Faux presented a plan by Chris Goettge, which showed that the upstairs conference room would be converted into two office spaces. Councilman Chance recommended a modular system. Councilman Kimble would like to add additional outlets to the office spaces. Staff will research and return with cost analysis. Public Comment: Lori Finafrock, Steve Pippin Main Street Program Manager Job Description Ms. Faux presented the revised Main Street Program Manager job description in response to Council comments. Please refer to the Staff Report dated April 24, 2024 for furtherinformation. LIAISON REPORTS Mayor Burhans reported on the Spring Spruce-up on April 21 and thanked everyone who showed up and participated, including the Rotary Club, Green Team, NMES PTA, and NMMS. He also asked for authorization for $1,0000.00 for al handyman tol help determine Councilman Weatherly thanked the Mayor, Councilman Kimble, Katie, and Claire, who helped the cause oft the water leak. with the Spruce-up.
