Followed by opening prayer and the pledge of allegiance led by Diane Kisner. Approval of Minutes from Monday, June 26th, 2023. - No Quorum to vote. Announcements: 1 The Coal Bucket Restaurant has been open for 10 years. The County Commissioners along with other State Government officials met at the Coal Bucket to help Barb Celebrate her 10 years of S Sr. Dep. Alexander - GC: Sheriff's Department - Wanted to inform the people that the Sheriff's office is there is there are any complaints anyone would like to report. Stated that they do have 1office in the academy. Rita Lambka - Asked Dep. Alexander about children being on the 4- wheelers? Should they be wearing helmets? Dep. Alexander stated that yes, anyone who is riding a 4-wheeler should be wearing a helmet, including all passengers. Rita also asked what if there are ATVS that aren't registered and do not have their riding permit? Dep. Alexander L Dale Lipscomb - Museum Coordinator - Just wanted to report that the climate control system in the museum is keeping up with the heat, and he is hoping that it continues. Rita Lambka - Resident - Just wanted to say that she believed that Homecoming was a great success! She said the vendors were all very pleasant and there were visitors from all around. Missi Nesselrodt - Resident/KVFD Secretary: -S She wanted to congratulate the Town on a successful Homecoming and on the completion of the ramp at the library. Asked if anything had ever come about the 2 stolen "Slow Down" turtles. Beccie called and reported the incident but was advised that: since the theft was less than $100, there really wasn't anything that can be done about it. Missi asked about the untagged vehicles that are sitting on the street. She stated that there are possibly two on Park Street and one she knows about sits on Third Street. Beccie Diane Kisner - Kitzmiller Librarian - Would like to announce that the library has teamed up with the Garrett County Public Schools to bridge the gap in technology. They were granted 2300 Chromebooks to give out to those who qualify. The first giveaway in Kitzmiller went well! The library had 32 registered for the summer Reading club this year. There were 90 guests that visited the library during homecoming. She would just like to give her personal thanks for the ramp at the library! For Lowe's, all the volunteers, and all the hard work that was put into it. Her only concern is that there is trash being placed in the opening between the "ramps." Grants: USDA: - Dump truck - Beccie reached out to the office of David Trone to see ifs she could get. something done for the SAM.gov registration and received a response back that they would be Appalachian Regional Commission Grant - (Museum) - This project has been completed, and Community Parks & Playgrounds -Still waiting to hear from PeggyJamison. When community action was flooded, they placed everything into one big room. They finally got the offices renovated and are currently moving everyone backi into their new offices. They will be sorting Lowes Grant: Library Ramp has been completed. The Helping Hands Thrift Shop was able to buy lunches for the volunteers 4 days out of the week. The Coal Bucket was able to provide lunch one day. Lowes also donated some plants and shrubs for landscaping with the Helping Hands Thrift shop donating their time and $150 towards landscaping at the school and the entrance to Electrical Car Ports: Francis Energy - Contract has been signed by both parties, just waiting on CDBG - Blighted Property: - This is's something that Peggy Jamison is also waiting to get back into more than willing toi try to help with the issue. Old Business: Flags in Park - After further investigation the total per pole, with flag, and all required equipment is $615 per pole. The Kitzmiller United Methodist Church donated $100 to the Flagpole Project, and the 50/50 raffle from Homecoming was able to raise Chairlift at Community Building (ARP) = Still waiting on the third-party inspector. CB Carpet Cleaning - Dwayne is scheduled to come this Thursday to scrub the carpets. Cameras & Keyless Entry - Wise guys gave us their estimate a few months ago and it is still valid at $18,460.96. Maxx Tech Security will be meeting with Beccie tomorrow at 11 AM and Chips $75.00. Network is meeting with Beccie on Thursday at 10 AM.
