CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL Cano. Absent: None Chair Michael Cano called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Present: Al Powers, April Smith, Michael Knighten, Edward Samuelson, and Michael 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Committee member Samuelson led the flag salute. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES 4.1 February 17, 2022 Special Meeting Minutes 4. The minutes were approved 4-0-1. Committee member Knighten abstained as he was not on the committee during the last meeting. 5. DISCUSSION ITEMS 5.1 Quality of Life (Measure DD) Proposed FY 2022/23 Budget Review. Assistant City Manager Rochelle Clayton introduced the presentation. Finance Manager Margarita Cornejo presented the budget portion. Public Works Director Nick Fidler presented the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) update. Chair Cano asked what caused the change tot the police station. Ms. Clayton stated that the city could not buy the building and did not want to invest more money in a building that was not owned. Committee member Knighten asked about where the new location would be. Mr. Fidler said it would on Bradley Road and Cherry Hills Boulevard, at a city owned property. Ms. Clayton also added that the sub station lease expires in December 2022 and the city is looking at options based on cost and improvements for the new location. Committee member Samuelson asked about the age of slurry seal areas. Principal Engineer Carlos Geronimo said ten years is the maximum amount of time and preventative maintenance is the best course of action. Mr. Fidler added that the Pavement Maintenance Program (PMP) helps to identify where to allocate funds Chair Cano asked why there was a delay with the medic truck. Ms. Clayton said they are in demand and there is a short supply.
