Multi-Modal Facility feasibility study proposed sitès, raised concerns on the selection of the preferred site indicated by City staff, and raised concerns there was not enough outreach on the project to the public. Steve Lee requested the City Council censure Mayor Ly basèd on statements of an attendee at a candlelight vigil èvent held. in West Sacramento commenting on the Mayor Ly responded he attended the candlelight vigil event at the invitation of the family, not in his capacity as mayor, and he believed the statements were unfounded Kimberly Vital spoke against recent vandalism and racist. acts in Elk Grove, and requested additional street lights be installed in the area of Old Town to improve safety. Rebecca Dierssen requested more public outreach be conducted on the Multi-Modal Facility feàsibility study before proceeding any further, that there was a lack of outreach too date, and she did not agree with the preferred site indicated by City staff. Lynn Wheat submitted a picture (filed) of the wall seen when using the pedestrian overcrossing of State Route 99, a wall which was often was tagged with graffiti, and suggested looking into screening the wall with vines or a green landscape buffer of behavior of the mayor and those. accompanying the mayor. and politically motivated. Mayor Ly responded he supported "by district" elections for council member seats, but Dennessa Atiles supported the City holding a town hall forum on race relations and to open the discussion for participants to share their stories; and relayed discussions she had in the community and interest of community mernbers to participate in discussions of race relations. Ms. Ahles attended a recent meeting of the Multicultural Committee and the discussion on the No Place for Hate campaign, but! raised concerns about committee member attendance and resource availability to effectively fund committee Adri Walker believed the request for additional street lights was to aid in abating instances of graffiti, vandalism, and hate speech that recently oçcurred at an: apartment complex. COUNCIL COMMENTS/REPOREPORTS/FUTURE AGENDAITEMS Council Member Suen stated town hall meetings to discuss race relations were being scheduled for October 23, October 30, and November 6. The October 23 meeting was still being finalized' to identify a location, but the October 30 and November 6 méetings would be held at the. Pavilion at Elk Grove Regional Park at 6:00 p.m. He. stated members of the public were scheduling a community meeting to be held October 19 at the Elk Grove United Methodist.
