Absent: Mayor Ly and Council Member Nguyen. CLOSED SESSION There were no public requests to speak. Vice Mayor Hume announced that no reportable action was taken inc closed session. OPEN SESSION Agenda Item No. 3.1: Adopt resolution authorizing an MOU with Women Escaping AViolent Environment, Inc. (WEAVE) for the purpose of applying for a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice for a Domestic Violence Response Team, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents necessary to apply for and/or receive up to $202,000 in grant funding, and, if awarded, amending the Police Department's budget up to the amount of the grant award. Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution: RECOMMENDATION 1) Authorizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Women Escaping A Violent Environment, Inc., (WEAVE) for the purpose of applying for a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice for a Domestic Violence Response Team; 2) Authorizing the City Manager to execute all contracts, reports and other documents required for applying for and/or receiving such funds pursuant to the terms and conditions of the U.S. Department of Justice; and 3) Ifawarded, amending the Police Department's revenue and expense budget Police Captain Rodney Rego provided an overview of the staff report and and up to $202,000. recommendation.
