CITY OF ELK GROVE Incorporatedu July 1, 2000  MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Wednesday, December 11, 2019  SPECIAL MEETING  CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL  Mayor Ly called the special City Council meeting of December 11, 2019 to order at  4:30 p.m.  Present: Mayor Ly and Council Members Detrick and Suen.  Absent: Vice Mayor Hume and Council Member Nguyen (Vice Mayor Hume  arrived at 4:37 p.m. and Council Member Nguyen arrived at 4:40 p.m.).  CLOSED SESSION  There were no public requests to speak.  The City Clerk announced the following closed session items prior to the City A) CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION: Pursuant to paragraph (1) of subdivision (d) of Government Code  Council adjourning to closed session at 4:31 p.m.:  Section 54956.9: Two (2) Matters:  1. Dan Schnepple, City of Elk Grove Case No. 2:19-CV-01950-MCE-DB  Sacramento Superior Court Case No. 34-2019-00260554 United States District Court, Eastern District of California  B) CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION: Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to paragraph (2) of subdivision (d) of  Government Code Section 54956.9:  Four (4) Matters  PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957:  Title: City Manager  Elk Grove City Council Page 1of2  Special Meeting, December 11,2019    Note: Vice Mayor Hume arrived at 4:37 p.m. and Council Member Nguyen arrived The City Council reconvened at 6:35 p.m. with all members present. Mayor Ly reported by 5 - 0 vote (Ayes: Ly, Hume, Detrick, Nguyen, and Suen), the City Council authorized the City Attorney's Office to defend the litigation of Willy Ong V.
